Look Up And Aim High
Lift Up Your Eyes and Rise Up
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1-2). David is saying that he knows that his help come from the Lord, the Creator of the heaven and the earth. You must first believe that God exist and He rewards those who diligently seek Him. If he created the heaven and the earth, surely he is able to help me.
There is nothing too hard for God. Sometimes we look to ourselves and others to help us accomplish our goals. Many times we don’t have goals, we just take one day at a time, whatever happens happens. We take it as it comes. No plans for our lives. We live wandering around in the world. We bounce from one place to another, from one job to another. It as if we have no hope.
I want you to know that you have hope in God. When we give ourselves totally to Him we will find our purpose in life. David’s job was to take care of his daddy’s sheep (I Samuel 16:11-13). But David did more than take care of the sheep. David, while watching the sheep, got to personally know God. And he learned to trust and depend on God. God raised David up to be King of Israel (II Samuel 2:4; 5:3)! We must seek to know that there is a power greater than man. When we come to realization that there is a greater power and begin to seek to know with our whole heart who is He, He will make Himself known to us.
Set your sight high above and seek God with all your heart. Let Him do His good pleasure in you (Philippians 2:13). You can rise up from where you are! Don’t wait, do it now!
